Pretty gingham .....

When I made this card as a Guest DT for this weeks Just Magnolia & Hanglar Stanglar challenge 'Gingham' I faffed about so much choosing papers, accessories and so on that it was only when I was clearing up the scraps that I discovered I'd missed off a whole layer of gingham paper that I had spent ages distressing with my thumb nail and some distress inks!  durrrrrr

The image was stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks.  I used cream picot edge lace, 25mm pink rustic gingham, white pearl and lavender round head pins,  lavender self adhesive pearls and stardust stickles all from here.  The tag, swirl and flower are all cut with Magnolia dies.

Ribbon Girl are sponsoring the Just Magnolia challenge this week with a prize of our mini ribbon kits - there are some fabulous creations by the Design Team - why not pop over and take a look, you've got  a whole week to get your card in!

True colours ............ and a card for a sketch challenge

The new challenge over at Papertake Weekly is 'true colours' so I have used red, white and blue on this birthday card. The image is coloured with copics and I've popped a red pearl on her scarf - I didn't have a bright blue pin so I coloured one with the a Copics pen to match the colouring on my image! I added red satin ribbon, red and white ric rac, white pin, pearls, airmail twine and a Union Jack charm - all from here

now here is a card I made for the Just Magnolia & H & S challenge  which I am entering - I followed the sketch and used cream picot edge lace, pink velvet ribbon, natural button twine, self adhesive 5mm crystals, a sparkly flower button and to top it all, a gorgeous small square diamante ribbon slide - all from here

and here is a close up of the image - I'm practising with the new distress ink pens, but still used copics for the face and skin! I'm also trying different brushes and different types of watercolour paper.

My favourite craft tool .......

This weeks challenge at Lils Little Fairies is to make a project using your favourite tool(s) and The Ribbon Girl is sponsoring with a £10 voucher to spend in the online store

Without a doubt my favourite is the bigshot - I probably use a die cut on every card I make!  I was delighted to be asked to be a guest DT this week and I used a ready printed image from LOTV (they really are so useful when time is short!) .  I used the bigshot to cut the LOTV stamped sentiment and the image, background mats and the butterfly!  I added white traditional fan pattern cluny lace, pink and white 38mm striped grosgrain and a variety of mulberry pretty flower blossoms, all available from here.  ~The green leaves were made with my Martha Stewart punch, another favourite!
The inspiration by the talented DT ladies over at Lils Little Fairies challenge is amazing - please pop over and you;ve got a whole week to enter your project!

Anything goes .... with the option of lace ....

The new challenge at Papertake Weekly which is sponsored by Lili of the Valley is 'Anything Goes .. with the option of using lace ...... well, I love LOTV images almost as much as I love lace so this wasn't difficult!  The image is a die cut square and I used 22mm cream cotton cluny lace in the traditional fan pattern and added some self adhesive pearl hearts.

I added some pink siky crush ribbon tied on with some pretty blossoms - the sentiment was a Papertrey stamp.
There are some lovely cards by the Papertake Weekly Design Team - well worth popping over - I hope they inspire you to enter the challenge - you could win a lovely prize - just in time because LOTV are having a launch of some new stamps in the very near future!
