Magnolia Only

The April Magnolia Only challenge 'add a diecut'  begins today on The Ribbon Girl Blog - I used Tilda with Flower and coloured her with Copics, adding Stardust stickles for her wings. I die cut the oval frame, the leaves and the little flowers. The papers on this criss-cross pocket card are from Pandura - one 12x12 double sided sheet of this gorgeous thick paper are sufficient for the card and the insert and everything matches perfectly.

I added lavender openweave ribbon and white daisy venise lace.

My flower arrangement includes a stem from a white pearl and crystal branch; purple Kort & God rolled rose and white chrysanth; WOC two tone lilac cherry blossom, Ribbon Girl white starburst stamen, white beaded stamen, lavender beaded gypsophalia and white daisy with a 15mm amethyst and diamante embellishment in the centre.  All flowers, pearls, lace, ribbons and embellishments are from The Ribbon Girl

The standard of cards and projects made by the Magnolia Only Design Team are fantastic - please pop over to have a look - you can not fail to be inspired!!

This week's Papertake Weekly challenge is 'weather with you'   I saw a card made by Lorraine last week and she'd used this sweet image from Wild Rose Studios - I ordered one straight away and couldn't wait to play with it.  I decided to use sepia type colours only and then added white opal liquid pearls as 'snow'

The paper is from one of the new LOTV pads 'country gent' and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
I used 45mm ivory guipure lace, 16mm ivory pleated satin, 16mm bridal white satin ribbon, cream Kort & God chrysanth, a 35mm mocha trellis rose, pale milky coffee cosmos, mocha 20mm open roses, ivory hip rosebuds and ivory beaded gypsophalia, white opal liquid pearls, stardust stickles all from The Ribbon Girl

Bingo ......

This week's challenge over at Papertake Weekly is a game of bingo - for my card I chose Blooms, free (image) and lace

The image is one of the new LOTV images ('Hand Picked' )which I coloured at Dawny P's colouring class at LOTV on Saturday - (thanks Dawny - had a great time) and met some lovely crafters!  The papers are from the LOTV 'Country Gent' pad  and the sentiment is cut from the new pre-printed sentiment pad and I added a cream daisy, mocha 20mm open rose, mocha aster, ivory beaded gypsophalia and ivory hip rosebuds.  I used 28mm 'Matilda' cream lace plus 16mm ivory pleated satin with ivory tiny ric rac on top.  The card was finished off with a little butterfly from my new Martha Stewart punch with a pearl on top and the odd bit of Stardust Stickles.

Add flowers ......

The March Card Challenge on the Ribbon Girl blog is 'add flowers' right up my street! This is a belated birthday card for my cousin Adele and I was inspired by Ribbon Girl teamie Teresa who made the most beautiful sewing kit card - I couldn't wait to try and make one myself and this is my interpretation.  I added a touch of luxury with this gorgeous 32mm pure silk ribbon - it ties the most delicious bows!

Here is a close up of the flowers:
Trellis rose, cherry blossoms, 20mm open roses, hip rosebuds and some of the new pale pink beaded stamens.  The papers are Tilda by Pandura

Instead of filling my criss cross card with sewing things like Teresa,  I made a large ornate tag with lace and ric rac embellished with little butterflies from my new Martha Stewart punch - I can see this punch being used as often as the MS leaves punch!!  The sentiment is from Stempelglade and was one of the stamps Andrea bought me from Australia - and they are all gorgeous!!

Silk Ribbon,  'Elizabeth' Lace, WOC Roses, Cherry Blossoms, Hip Rosebuds, RGirl Beaded Stamens, Stickles, Liquid Pearls and Pearls are all from The Ribbon Girl

As usual, the inspiration from the Ribbon Girl DT is a must-see and there is a great prize of a £10 voucher generously provided by the lovely ladies at Lili of the Valley to spend in the LOTV online store - just in time too, they are launching new products on 8th April!! and a £10 voucher to spend in the Ribbon Girl online store

A touch of kraft .......

My DT card for the new challenge over at Papertake Weekly - 'anything goes with the option of using kraft' so I used kraft as a backing sheet on the front and inside of this birthday card.  The image is a 'topper' by Elisabeth Bell and I added  'Angelica' tulle lace and pale peach 15mm satin ribbon with a watering can with handle.  I love my new Martha stewart buttefly punch!!  All edges were inked with walnut ink.

My flower arrangement included Wild Orchid Crafts peach cherry blossom, orange sweetheart blossom, white hip rosebuds, plus a Kort & Godt ivory rolled rose with a gem in the centre and a RGirl peach daisy

I even decorated the inside to tone with the front of the card !

Ribbon, lace, charm, flowers, gems and Stardust Stickles all from here

I hope you are able to pop over to Papertake Weekly - the design team have made some super cards and we look forward to seeing your  creations - you could win a great prize!

See you soon

A house with flowers .....

I was delighted (but very nervous!) to be invited by Lili of the Valley to be a GDT for April - this is my first project.  I was inspired by fellow Ribbon Girl teamie Gail who made a house from chipboard then Andrea made one so I just had to have a go myself.  I have to admit I found it rather difficult to cut through the board with my stanley knife, but I made sure every component was the correct size before covering with 'Perfect Pair' papers from LOTV.  The window was particularly hard for me to cut but it finished off the house nicely.

The flowers growing up the walls are WOC pink and ivory aster chrysanths and then I added 4mm pink pearl beads under the eves of the roof.  The Lili of the Valley sign was computer generated and distressed with walnut ink.

I cut out the little girl from Mini Masterpiece No. 21 and sat her on the Magnolia doohickey fence which I adhered to the base board of the house.

Forever friends and paper piecing .....

I was asked to be a GDT at this weeks challenge at Forever Friends Challenge Blog  'paper piecing' and here is my card.  The bear was coloured with copics then dressed with LOTV paper 'Petal Fresh'.   I made the butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch and I added some of our new 'Daphne' 25mm white lace, blue and white saddlestitch ribbon and blue self adhesive pearls.  My flowers include WOC white sweetheart blossoms, carnations, 20mm open roses and Kort and Godt white chrysanths all from The Ribbon Girl

See you later for my second post in one day!
