Party cake and favours .....

Party favours for my 70th birthday celebration - paper is half an A4 sheet of digi download paper from Sweete Shoppe topped with 25mm aqua satin ribbon topped with a hand made paper and gold embossed vellum flower with a s/a gem in the centre.  The ribbon bow was tied with silver twine and there were two tiny star beads on the ends of the twine.  The sentiment was computer generated (and the Ferrero Roche chocolates inside the roll were yummy)

My gorgeous birthday cake made by my very clever little sister Jackie Bainbridge  - it was a lemon and buttercream layer cake and tasted delicious!

A gold and white birthday card for an 80year old lady ....

I was asked to make a card for an 80year old lady and I used a Marianne Designs die LR0578 cut in white and laid onto some gold glitter card.  I used various flowers and leaves from my stash and added a bow made from ivory sheer ribbon.  I die-cut the 80 in gold and matted onto the corresponding white background.

Aqua and white birthday card with a hint of pink ..........

A birthday card in aqua and white using the Marianne LR0470 creatables die set with an 80 using sizzix numbers, two sizes so they nested together.  

I made the flowers from vellum, heat embossed, coloured with a pink copics marker and added a wink of Stella before popping in a s/a gem for the centres.  Leaves made in the same way.  The touch of pink was a pure accident.  I was at a crop on Friday night when I made flowers, but had left my aqua Copic marker at home and 'made do' with a pink one, but it turned out much better and I was really pleased with my 'happy accident' or 'design feature' as Andrea and I say when we make a mistake that actually turns out OK

On your special day ...

 

A wedding card with the gorgeous Polkadoodles image love-kisses from the Work & Play digi bundle.  I made a white die cut, sorry no idea of the make, and matted it onto pink pearly card.   I love to try something new and I saw some lovely flowers on a facebook group made from vellum paper which had been painted with acrylic pearl paints - off to Hobbycraft where I got a couple of small bottles of Pebeo pearlised acrylic paint and one much bigger bottle for around £2 which is a metallic finish paint - both gave excellent results and a love sheen to the petals.  Thanks to Bozena Beijer for inspiring me again.

Lilac birthday card ....

 

A birthday card using dies from the Marianne Designs LR0470 set plus vellum flowers (see below for how I made them) stamped and heat embossed using Heartfelt Creations dog rose set, which I then coloured with a Copic Marker.

I used the Heartfelt Creations stamp with Versamark ink, sprinkled with sparkly silver glitter and heat embossed.  Then I coloured back and front of the vellum flowers with a Copic marker

I die-cut the coloured and embossed flowers with the Heartfelt Creations matching die

I diecut plain lilac flowers (same as the background of the card) shaped both the card flowers and the vellum flowers then painted on Wink of Stella to give it a bit more sparkle :-)  In my opinion, you can't have too much sparkle!  I added s/a gems to the centre of the flowers

Sparkly embossed flowers on a girlie card .....

 

For this girlie card I was inspired by a card made by Astrid Mestrum.   I used vellum paper for the Heartfelt Creations dog roses which I embossed with silver powder then die-cut with the matching die.  I'm loving my new Gemini Junior machine, I should have got one years ago!  I shaped the flowers and leaves then added sparkly gems to the centres of the flowers.  The actual card and for the beautiful die-cut and embossed panel I used Marianne Craftable LR0578 die set.  The image is from LOTV pre-coloured ready to use 'Very Girlie' artsheet

Flowers for you ......

There is a new 'anything goes' challenge over at Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Challenge with a nice prize for the winner.  I hope you will find time to join us and if you pop over to the blog I'm sure you will be inspired.  The DT were tasked with creating a project with the theme of Flowers as it is Mothers Day in late March.   I used the adorable Bella Bear and after I had downloaded the digi image and printed it out, I coloured her with Copic pens

I decided on an easel card and die cut the coloured image with a very ornate oval shape.  I also used a scallop edge die and changed the edges of the card from straight to ornate, and did the same with the white card I used for the base of the card.

I punched out daisies and leaves in various sizes and added a lemon/white wild rose to complete my floral arrangement.  I added pearls and gems to the centres of the flowers (I used palest lemon Polkadoodles digital paper for the flowers and blue and white patterned paper for the backgrounds, both from the Fuzzypuffs collection

Birthday card for an 80year old ....

 

A birthday card for an 80year old.  I used a Marianne CR1458 Craftables die and added some shocking pink satin ribbon.  The corner dies by Gemini are called 'Opulent Swirls' and came with my new Gemini Junior machine (which I'm very pleased with)   I added some flowers from my stash and diecut some leaves from some green scrapbook paper.  I've had the background 12x12 paper for quite a while now and can't remember the name of it, sorry.

A sympathy card ...

 

Sympathy cards are always so hard to make, so it's a good idea to have some in the card box to use when needed.  For this card I used the various components of the Marianne Design Die No LR0578 for the main part, the circle and the pretty tulips.  I both die-cut and embossed the pieces and used my new Gemini Junior Electric die-cutting machine - I'm very pleased with the results and it is so easy to use!

I added some flowers from my stash and a satin ribbon to tone with the background paper

A round fold-out Christmas card ...

 

I know, fancy making a Christmas card on one of the hottest February days ever recorded here in the UK!!    This is a round card which folds flat, then can be stood up so the inside and outside can be viewed at the same time, from now on I'll call this a 'Bozena fold card' as I was inspired by a lady I follow on Facebook called Bozena who makes the most beautiful die-cut cards.  I am still practising and learning how many layers of card I can die-cut without breaking our Sizzix machine:-)   

 I used a pre-coloured Polkadoodles digital image and digital sentiment, both from the Winnie White Christmas collection.   I added a doily die No. 7 by Sweet Dixie plus a 35mm burgundy cottage rose, two die-cut ivy leaves and some s/a pearls.

this is a view of the card showing the inside and the outside, there is a blank panel behind the two front circles where a personal message can be written.

Christening card with a special fold ..

 

 I have been fascinated by a card made by a lady in Netherlands (Bozena Beijer) and she kindly gave some instructions verbally in Dutch so it has taken me almost a waste bin full of spoiled papers and cards before I could make this card work :-)  This is my first actual card and now I know roughly what to do I will have another go later in the week.  For this lovely card I used a pre-coloured image from a LOTV 'Babies' Art Sheet, together with various dies.  I die cut the flower from white paper and coloured with an ink pad then added some stamens and a couple of leaves.

A get well card ..................

There is a new 'anything goes' challenge over at Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Challenge with a nice prize for the winner.  I hope you will find time to join us and if you pop over to the blog I'm sure you will be inspired.  The DT were tasked with creating a project with the theme of Pancake Day so I used this cute image Miss Sugarpops Pancake Heaven with digi paper from the Sugar Sprinkles collection and made a round Get Well card - I thought the digi download sentiment from the same collection would make the recipient smile!

I coloured the downloaded image with Copics pens, then added some scraps of green ribbon and some punched flowers with pearls in the centre

Burgundy butterfly card ....

 

A greetings card with some burgundy flowers from my stash plus some hand made paper flowers and leaves, both die cut, shaped then coloured with ink pads and finished with stamens.  A matching ribbon bow finished the floral arrangement.  I used a Marianne die for the slotted satin ribbon and the ornate corners.  The butterflies were also die cut and I added pearls to the centres.

Hope you have an otterly lovely day ...

I was inspired by the talented Sue Hastead to try and colour in this wonderful digi download otter image by Whimsy Stamps.  I got my copic pens out and I followed Sue's excellent tutorial and was rather pleased with how the cute otter came out and I will be having another go very soon I think.

I made the image into a greetings card and used Maja paper (sorry, can't remember the name of the design) then added lace, ribbon, flowers, some little leaves and butterflies I punched out of scaps and a computer generated sentiment.
