Sparkly Lilac Fairy Card

Sorry for the poor photo - bad light, masses of snow (see post below)  I followed the sketch by Bev in this weeks LOTV Challenge.  I will also enter it into the Ribbon Girl lilac/pink/white colour challenge.

This card was made using a LOTV diecut image - the wings were trimmed so as to fit the oval nestie then it was matted onto a white scalloped background.  The tutu and the wings were highlighted with Stardust Stickles. The background papers (lilac eve) are digital downloads from Clipart Fairy.    I used a die from My Favourite Things to make the scalloped white strip under the 38mm wide white spotted organza ribbon.  To finish I added self adhesive gemstone swirls (from stash) plus three lilac tinged flowers and some sparkly silver leaves (as usual cut off from artificial foliage!)  I just love sparkle!!

Let it snow, let it snow .....

Andrea took this picture of this afternoons blizzard through the front window - looks great doesn't it!

and this is the bird house - you can see how much snow fell during the night!  It's minus 3 at the moment, Saturday evening, and we've been told to expect severe weather overnight .......

Gold Angel Card

The angel and the spotted and striped background papers are from Nitwit Collections - I tried the angel on various backgrounds but chose the one with tiny stars on.  I matted the various components onto toning textured card. The join between the spotted and striped papers was hidden with rich gold satin ribbon from the Ribbon Girl which perfectly matched the papers.  The photos were taken outside against a very snowy (8 inches overnight) back garden!

I added Stardust Stickles to the wings and dress of the angel, computer generated a sentiment, then finished the card with a couple of stick on pearls and gold gemstones fom 3djean   I will enter this card into the Daring Cardmakers challenge 'Spotty Stripy Christmas'

A Sunny Hedgehog Birthday Card .....

I've been waiting for better light to take photographs, but alas, had to do this with a snowy background this afternoon.  This bright and sunny birthday card has a cute Penny Black stamp which I coloured with Copics and enhanced with Stardust Stickles.  The sentiment was computer generated onto the digital background paper.  I'm entering this into Papertake Weekly cut it out challenge and also I followed the sketch in this weeks Penny Black challenge and used digital background papers 'chalky lemon' from the Clipart Fairy. To mask the join I used yellow twill stripe ribbon from here.   The coloured Penny Black image and the toning yellow card background were cut with nestabilities on the sizzix machine.  I added a wide yellow satin ribbon and a bow plus a couple of golden yellow fancy pins - all ribbons, pins and stickles from here

I printed out an extra sheet of the background paper and punched paper flowers which I shaped by nipping the petals, then fastened two flowers together with a yellow brad after which plenty of stardust stickles were added.

White and Cream Magnolia Card

I stamped the Magnolia image onto watercolour paper then painted with with distress ink, first time I've tried this technique and was really pleased with the result - was just like watercolour painting.  I cut the oval with a nestie then made a white watercolour scalloped background mount and painted the edge with the same distress ink.

The background paper is from a Making Memories pack and I added white cotton lace and cut some swirls on the sizzix to which I added Stardust Stickles.  The flowers, which I coloured slightly with watered down distress ink are from Wild Orchid.  I added a couple of coppery/gold pins and a beautiful bowl made from Champagne Silky Crush ribbon, then added stickles to the stamped image.  The final touch was three adhesive pearls - I was so pleased with the end result and will be colouring more stamped images with the Tim Holtz Distress Inks.   Lace, Ribbon, Pins, Stickles all from here.  I'm entering this card into the Magnolia Week 83 challenge White plus One

Flitter and Flitz .............

I made such a hash of my first effort to create a card full of 'flitter and flitz ??' lol :) that should be glitter and glitz - my finger tips are covered in stickles!! (so is the kitchen table, the floor, my skirt, Haggis our little Westie) that I decided that my family could wait for their tea and I would make another card - so here it is, I've used a very small scalloped edge card which Andrea kindly bought for me and the little bear is a diecut image from LOTV.  This card will be entered in the LOTV Challenge 'Glitter and Glitz' and Simon Says Stamp 'Sparkle'

I've kept this fairly simple, adding a red satin ribbon on an angle with a diamante ribbon slide and three poinsetta flowers (from Wild Orchid I think), liberally glittered with Stardust Stickles!   Stickles, Ribbon, Diamante Ribbon Slide are all from here

From our home to yours .....

THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED TO SHOW THE CARD WITH A WHITE FLOWER BECAUSE I REALISED AFTER I HAD FINISHED THE CARD AND ENTERED IT INTO THE LOTV CHALLENGE THAT IT LOOKED TOTALLY WRONG!! I used a LOTV die cut image, cut with a nestabilities and mounted onto dark green textured card.  I used a cuttlebug folder to emvboss white paper and laid a strip onto this pretty background paper from stash, then added a strip of cotton lace and some satin ribbon and bow into which I added a green round headed fancy pin.    I used a good amount of Stardust Stickles on the new Christmas sentiment from LOTV which I stamped in green ink then cut on the sizzix using good old nestabilities and made a dark green scalloped mount and I even remembered to add a double layer of sticky pads on one side to compensate for the image which was higher than the embossed background!

I used two christmas rose flowers from an artificial flower sprah, removed the centres and replaced them with stick on jewels and attached them to the card.  I then added even more stickles around all the component parts then some really nice green stick on gems in ther corners!  I will enter this into the LOTV challenge.   Ribbon, stickles, lace and pin all from here, green stick on gems from here next time)

Birthday Boy

Apologies for the photo quality - bad light stopped play!! Even with the daylight lamp and a big white background, it still looks dull - having said that, none of that affected my aim with the camera and after several attempts I still haven't got the picture straight!   This is a plain and simple birthday card for a little boy - the cute image is from LOTV which is double mounted onto textured plain card just a shade lighter than the background navhy blue card.  A piece of peacock blue pencil stripe ribbon from here is inserted to resemble a tab on the side.

I used a silver 'thickers' number and the round sentiment is one of the new rubber stamps from Lili of the Valley which I stamped in blue Stampin Up ink, cut the circle with a punch and fixed on with sticky pads.
I am entering this card into the http://letscreatechallenges.blogspot.com/ 'one for the boys'

Swirls Christmas Tree

I was so impressed by Lucy's card that I went off and bought the Hero Arts digital stamp kit straight away - I'm really pleased with it.  For this card I printed the green swirl tree on heavy quality white paper, then mounted it on a lavender textured card background.  The beauty of this digital image is that you can colour the tree any shade you like using photoshop!  I think it looks plain, but classy! and I'll be making lots more like this and if I could tie a bow as good as Andrea and Bev, I'd be a very happy little cardmaker!

I added lavender dewdrops and lavender 15mm satin ribbon both from ribbon girl

Bear with gifts

A bright and cheerful Christmas card with a LOTV diecut image, on a red card background, on top of a cuttlebug embossed white paper.

I cut the flowers from red and green textured card in the sizzix using a poinsetta leaf die, curled the edges, added stickles stardust and a holly berry red dew drop.  The card was finished with red/green/gold striped grosgrain ribbon.  Stickles, Dew Drops and Ribbon all from here

Beautiful ballerina ...........

This card features a LOTV diecut of a cute little ballerina which I got at the NEC last Saturday.  I used plain card in various shades of mauve, lavender and purple which I added to a scalloped edge white card

I added sparkle in the form of Stickles Stardust Glitter Glue, a fuschia/white pencil striped ribbon and a lilac gem butterfly embellishment.  The final touch was lavender dew drops on each corner.  Ribbon, Stickles, Dew Drops all from here.  I will enter this into the LOTV challenge 73 and blog hop.

Sparkly Diecut Christmas Bauble Card

For something completely different to a traditional red/green Christmas theme, this simple card features a diecut bauble cut from patterned paper to which I added lashings of Stardust Stickles glitter-glue.  The bauble was stuck onto another diecut shape (nestabilities) which I embossed with a cuttlebug mat then glittered with stickles.

While the background paper of white snowflakes on a pink background was very pretty, I thought it could do with a bit more sparkle and I embellished it with blue stick on rhinestones  in the centre of each of the snowflakes.  To finish the card, I added 9mm wide pink and white spotted organza ribbon and some leaves from satin cut out holly ribbon. Ribbon, Holly Leaves and Stickles all from here   I'm entering this card into the Caardvarks challenge 'holiday die cuts'

(Apologies for the quality of the photographs - this card was photographed in very poor light)

Christmas Card

A very jolly red, green and white Christmas Card featuring a Lili of the Valley die cut image, plain red card, embossed white card and Berisfords green and white pencil stripe ribbon. I have entered this in the Charisma Cardz Challenge No. 44

I added plenty of Stardust Stickles and a red heart pin with additional beads plus the sentiment 'With Love at Christmas' typed in word and mounted onto a scrap of the red card. Ribbon, Stickles and Pin are from here

Magnolia with Beads and Sparkle

This is my entry for the Just Magnolia challenge blog - a card featuring a Magnolia stamped image with the option of added beads. I coloured the image with copics to match the 25mm Jade satin ribbon and lilac shades to tone with the plain card and the Martha Stewart punched border.
I added lots of Stardust Stickles and also some stick on jade colour gems.  I adapted two vintage style white hat pina by adding other beads, a stick on jade gem and some glitter -  a very effective way of using up beads from stash while producing a couple of very pretty pins!

Where did you get that hat?

Oh isn't that hat just fabulous!  I cut the circle from a LOTV diecut image of a really cute little girl dressed to the nines for her afternoon tea party and matted it onto a scalloped circle (both nestabilities). I matted some very plain spotted cosmo cricket paper onto plain lavender card and stuck on a vertical 25mm wide mauve ribbon
I then added some paper flowers and very glittery leaves from an artificial Christmas spray, applied plenty of stickles Stardust to the image, the card and the flowers.

I found a couple of lilac colour daisy flowers and printed the sentiment from a new LOTV stamp I got at the NEC last Saturday, cut it out with a circle punch and again, added plenty of sticles. I stuck the circle onto the daisy flower and then used sticky pads to attach it to the card.  I then made a separate bow with the mauve ribbon and stuck it onto the vertical flat ribbon.  I am entering this card into the LOTV challenge for a 'one for the girls' card

Baptism Card

This baptism card is for my entry to Friday Sketchers Sketch 126 and I used a Lili of the Valley stamp which I coloured with copics then matted onto some lilac cardstock which I cut with a nestability die.  Sorry I don't remember where the checked paper came from.

I used open weave ribbon to form the horizontal and the vertical panel as in the sketch, but because I could see the raw ends of the vertical piece of ribbon, I added three lilac dewdrops, both from Ribbon Girl

I made a further bow with the open weave ribbon and stuck it on the corner of the card together with some mulberry paper flowers from my stash.  When the card was finished, I added copious amounts of Stickles to highlight certain areas of the stamped image, and I am very pleased with the result!
