Baby doll embellished gown ......

A gown for a medium sized baby doll trimmed with 12mm and 25mm ivory frilled lace and 15mm ivory/bridal white double sided satin ribbon.  The sleeves are gently gathered with 6mm elastic, which is nice and soft and easy to sew.

The bonnet has a double layer of frilled 25mm ivory lace around the back crown and a single row at the front.  The hat ties are 15mm ivory/bridal white double sided satin ribbon.

I really enjoyed sewing this little outfit - I love working with pretty fabrics and trimmings

Dungarees and t-shirt ....

I'm doing well after my spine surgery 4 days ago for a discectomy and a facetectomy of my lower spine.  I am rather sore, very bruised and stiff but since I was up at 4.30 am this morning for pain relief and didn't feel like going back to bed, I thought I would do a bit of sewing - I didnt have to lift anything as both machines are on the desk all set up ready to use.   I really enjoyed making these two little garments which were easy to make following the pattern instructions.

Poly/cotton dungarees using McCalls Crafts  Pattern No M4338 view C, the back opening has velcro and the bottom of the legs are trimmed with frilled white lace.

T-shirt to fit a medium baby doll using McCalls Crafts Pattern No M4338 view E made from recycled ladiest-shirt.  The back opening has velcro to close and the sleeves have been trimmed with 12mm frilled white lace.  This item was made using the overlocker and I was pleased with the end result.

I'm hoping they fit Baby George who is Baby Annabells brother apparently!

Burgundy folding card

A folding decorative corner card made with Maja 'Home for the Holidays' 6x6 papers,  10mm double row ivory flatback pearl trim, a sprig of tiny pearl cluster flowers on a silver wire, ivory 30mm wild rose, burgundy 20mm rose, burgundy cherry blossom, ivory miniature blossom flowers and a couple of small rose leaves    All papers, flowers and trims are from www.ribbongirl.co.uk

The heart was die-cut, the sentiment was computer generated and the tag was made with a punch and I added a rose and a couple more leaves.

Jam Making continues ...

I'm still loving making jam and preserves but my cupboard is getting rather full so probably time to stop, apart from lots more of the Caramelised Onion Jam I made which was so delicious my family have requested more.  This week I've made raspberry jam, fig and lemon jam, plum jam and greengage jam - I'll be adding these to the summer fruits jam, blueberry and raspberry jam and the strawberry jam - oh and not forgetting the lemon curd and the lime curd in the fridge (shorter shelf life)

Thanks for looking, I'll be back later with a new card I've made and photos of some more dolly clothes I've made to practise my rusty sewing skills

More doll clothes - pink hat and coat ....

I am continuing with my sewing practice and I have made a hat and coat for a medium sized Baby Annabel dolly (would fit any medium baby doll)  using this lovely pink fleece fabric - I have to say it was very difficult to sew, but next time I make this pattern I will use a thinner polycotton material.  I trimmed it with pink spot lace edged bias binding, an 18mm sparkly button and 15mm pale pink satin ribbon - all from the store

I loved the shape of the hat, next time I will line it when I sew with a finer fabric, the fleece fabric was a little too bulky for such a small item.   I used Simplicity Archives Baby Doll Pattern Number 4707, size medium, view C, hat and coat
