18th birthday card ...

It's a sketchie free for all over at Papertake Weekly today - I've made an 18th birthday card and I used Pion papers then added ivory silk ribbon which I twirled over the top of 'Jacqueline' ivory vintage style cotton lace; 30mm ivory open roses, ivory large rosebud, white ivory cherry blossom, white lily and tulip.  I popped two bark hearts into the flower arrangement and added a 20mm flower pearl and diamante embellishment and a pearl princess pin to the silk bow

I made a co-ordinating box to which I added more Pion papers (this piece is actually from a Christmas set :-), then I added an ivory lace corner, 30mm ivory wild rose and edged the sides of the whole box with 6mm ivory flat back pearl trim
I hope you will join us at Papertake Weekly - my team mates  have made some fabulous projects to inspire you and as usual, there is a wonderful prize!

see you soon, Mary xx

I'm so excited - I've just learned that I've been lucky enough to be chosen for the new Lili of the Valley Design Collective team!! and I'm looking forward to working with so many super talented crafters!!

Hand made flowers ...

Todays challenge over at Papertake Weekly is 'Go as you please with the option of adding hand made flowers' so I made this chrysanth by stamping my new Tim Holtz flower stamp 3 times and colouring with inktense pencils.

I cut the three layers out, omitting some of the petals on each one then stacked them together.  I used a Magnolia die and a Noor Design die for the leaves.  All edges were inked and I added some of the lovely 'Amelia' fine cotton vintage style lace and some honey gold 15mm satin ribbon both from www.ribbongirl.co.uk

I hope you will have time to visit Papertake Weekly - the design team made some fabulous projects to inspire you and as usual, there is a super prize for the winner of the challenge so why not pop over now!
