I was so inspired by altered bottles made by the very talented Chantal that I just had to have a go at altering a glass jar - would you believe this is an empty Heinz sandwich spread jar? I painted it with a mixture of cream furniture paint and white acrylic and embedded small pieces of kitchen paper (separated into single layers) into the paint, then painted over the top to give it texture (Andrea's idea, not mine)
When that was dry I added narrow ivory cotton 'Donna' lace, pearls, Lemoncraft House of Roses paper, and the image was cut from another sheet of the same 12 x 12 paper.
Around the neck of the jar I added pink shabby ruffled ribbon with some 6mm flatback pearls adhered in the centre. I added a 9mm pale pink spot organza ribbon bow to the lid and tucked behind the flowers to the left of the image. I hung a bronze colour pot bellied bird cage charm on natural hemp twine and fastened it to the 3mm pale pink ribbon.
I glued flowers to the lid (pale pink Ballerina Blossom, pink open rose and a pink cosmos daisy)
