The perfect tree ....

I don't usually do 'clean and simple' cards, but I was inspired by Shirley and came up with this.  I stamped the image and sentiment then coloured the LOTV image 'the perfect tree' with inktense pencils.  I added Stardust Stickles and some 7mm red satin ribbon and some 3mm pearls from the Christmas mix

Ribbon and pearls and Stickles are from The Ribbon Girl

see you later with the complete opposite of 'clean and simple' lol

Humphrey has fun in the snow

It's make a treat holder OR 'anything goes' at todays Papertake Weekly  -  I really love doing my DT projects for PTW each week as it really makes me think of a new and different way to display the challenge.   I went for 'anything goes' and I coloured this delightful Humphrey image I've had for ages.  I used inktense pencils and die cut a pair of windows (my new window dies are from Dies to Die for.

It took a while to work out how to make opening windows - I cut two windows for each side and sandwiched a piece of clear acetate between as 'glass' then made a paper hinge down the outer edge  and glued it behind the image.  I added tiny silver brads so the windows resembled french doors.  The tiny sliver of background paper is from the LOTV classic Christmas pad

My flower arrangement includes a red poinsettia, ivory hip rosebud, white sweetheart blossom, white tiny rosebud and white beaded swirl all from The Ribbon Girl

I hope you will join in with our challenge at PTW - the design team have made some lovely projects to inspire you and we are looking forward to seeing your creations

Through the arched window ....

My first attempt at making a window card so you can see the image through the panes of glass (acetate sheet) - will keep trying!!   I somehow thought the die would cut the window shape directly from the card blank!! I am such a plonker.  When I discovered it didn't, I had to cut a hole in the card blank then position the die cut window and acetate over it - I'll keep practising :-)

I used an image from the LOTV XL artpad Christmas Eve.  I added some punched out holly leaves, a snippet of 5mm red gingham, a piece of 7mm red satin, a tiny holly leaf charm tied on with red button twine

Add ribbon .....

My DT card for the September Card Challenge over on The Ribbon Girl Blog this morning - I finally got around to colouring up a Stempleglede image which I've had since a year past Christmas (a gift from Andrea :-) ) with inktense pencils and added Stardust Stickles.

I rarely make a card without using ribbon and this time I used 38mm lilac organa ribbon, 'Michele' white guipure lace with some 5mm pearls stuck on to the flower centres, edged with purple spotted lace edged bias binding.

My flower arrangement includes WOC 20mm lilac open roses and some sweetheart blossoms sprinkled amongst a stem of clear crystal hearts.  I popped a small white lace butterfly in the top corner with more 5mm ivory flat back pearls.

I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge and there are lovely prizes to be won and fabulous projects by the design team to inspire you!
